Kugel Mesh Patch

Composix® Kugel Mesh Patches are used to repair hernias.  A hernia occurs when stomach muscles are too weak and cannot contain the intestines.  Often a surgeon will just sew the lining of the stomach back together.  Composix® Kugel Mesh Patches are used in cases where the stomach cannot be sewn back together due to weakness or scar tissue.  However, there have been a number of problems since the Composix® Kugel Mesh Patches were released.  This prompted a Class I recall by the FDA for patches manufactured between December 2005 and March 2006.  The “memory-ring” that allows the patch to expand and contract can become dislodged and slice trough internal organs.  If you or a loved has been hurt by a Composix® Kugel Mesh Patch, please contact us.
